SPED 4324 - Instructional Strategies: Students with Mild/Moderate Disabilities

3 hrs
Differentiated instruction for diverse learners with strong emphasis in language/literacy (oral language, phonological awareness, alphabetic principle, word recognition, written expression, fluency, comprehension, content vocabulary), mathematics and content areas. Selection of learning strategies to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities and connect to the RTI and IEP development process. Evaluation and implementation of specific learning strategies
used in classroom settings. Strategies to acquire, store and express knowledge. Direct development in learning strategies and specific problem solving associated with strategies instruction. 10 hours Field Experience required in an inclusive settings.
 
Prerequisites: SPED 2338  or consent of instructor.
