SPED 5343 - Law and Contemporary Issues in Special Education

Significant historical and current issues in special education services including the inclusive model with families and other professionals; Response to Intervention (RTI); federal and state laws and legal issues, professional practices and ethics. Topics include: confidentiality, identification, assessment and monitoring, behavioral interventions, related services, transition, assistive technology, service agencies, and IEP development. 10 hours of Field Experience required.

Prerequisite: SPED 2338.
