Students will be prepared to specialize as clinical rehabilitation counselors demonstrating the professional knowledge and skills necessary to address a variety of circumstances within the clinical rehabilitation counseling context. They will be able to be employed as rehabilitation counselors at both private and public agencies, companies, hospitals, non-profit organizations and beyond. Students will be trained in three areas as outlined by the 2016 CACREP standards
Students completing a minimum of 300 hours in both COUN 8391 and COUN 8392 will have met the program minimum hourly requirement of 600 hours for internship, does not need to take COUN 8393. Students completing fewer than 300 hours in COUN 8391 and COUN 8392, must enroll in COUN 8393 to complete the program minimum hourly requirement of 600 hours for internship.
