An in-depth look at reading comprehension development, theories, and the Science of Teaching Reading (STR) domains and competencies. Includes techniques for teaching literacy, comprehension, and study strategies in a range of disciplines that help students construct meaning and become more effective readers in the content areas, appropriate reading levels, adaptation of materials in content areas. Experience provided in mini-lesson planning, instruction, and videotaping of comprehension strategies.10 hours of field experience required.
