30 Hours
The MS in Business Analytics program is designed for the working professional. Business Analytics is discipline that integrates business strategy with various aspects of data science. To achieve this end, the discipline relies heavily upon the theory and applications of: computer programming, economics, finance, information management, marketing, statistics and operations research. It is through the integration of these disciplines that students acquire the necessary skillsets that enable them to engage in optimal business decision making, by employing rigorous analysis of complex data from both the public and private sectors. During this era of massively generated data (i.e., big data), individuals who are adept at compiling, cleaning, and analyzing such data for its predictive value are in high demand by both the public and private sectors.
Students pursuing the Masters of Science Degree in Business Analytics (MS Business Analytics) must complete ten courses (for a total of 30 semester credit hours), over the course of three semester terms and one summer term.
All formats assume that adult students, given a structured set of learning objectives and a prescribed methodology, can independently master course content. Instructional contact hours are less than more traditional face-to-face programs. Most of the student’s work is teacher-directed learning outside the classroom. Some classes require team meetings for assigned projects outside of scheduled contact hours. Graduate business programs faculty expect students to complete work in a timely and professional manner.
Applications will be subject to the current Graduate Program Admissions Committee Approved Policies and Procedures.
