Study of U.S. law as it applies to specific issues in mass media and journalism, such as libel, invasion of privacy, protection of sources, freedom of expression. Also examines specific regulation regarding obscene material, copyright protection, advertising, consent, and telecommunications.
Prerequisites: ENGL 1313 or consent of instructor.
