HCMG 7325 - Health Care Planning and Policy

Analyzes the political, social and economic dimensions of U.S. health care policy at the national, state and local levels and their implications for current and future health care organizations across the spectrum of care. Applies the theory by tracking health care legislation in progress at the national, state and local levels. Considers key federal legislation such as the Balanced Budget Act for implications in the delivery of health care in the U.S. Analyzes trends in policy-making so as to forecast future legislative initiatives that may impact the design of delivery of health care in the U.S. Considers how to influence policy development at the local, state and national level.
