PSYC 6326 - Latina/o Psychology 3 hour(s) Overview of historical foundations of contemporary Latino psychologies and current state of knowledge in Latino psychology research and practice. Emphasis on issues such as acculturative stress, oppression and discrimination, culture-bound values, ethnicity and ethnic identity development, and gender issues. Students will examine personal attitudes, experiences, and beliefs as they relate to the competent and ethical delivery of services to Latino populations. (Note: This course is taught in Spanish). Grading Basis: Letter Grade Repeatable for credit? No Prerequisite: PSYC 6370 or facility in oral Spanish as determined by the OLLU Oral Proficiency Assessment. Offered: Fall.
