EDUC 4348 - Literacy Diagnosis and Remediation EC-12

Survey of informal and standardized instruments for assessing, diagnosing, and remediation of students’ reading strengths, challenges, and learning disabilities. Included administration of informal reading inventory assessment, with analysis and interpretation of data, and diagnosis of an individual student with an emphasis on appropriate Science of Teaching Reading standards (STR) and Writing strategies to remediate the student’s needs including dyslexia. Practice in advanced lesson planning, instruction, and videotaping of lessons during one-to-one tutoring of a student. Ten hours of field experience required in a reading program.
