ENGL 3351 - Sports Writing

Course helps students develop their skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking through the study of a variety of story forms, including narratives and investigative essays. Students read the works of the greats of sports media, past and present, and cover both classic and contemporary works. Course also covers sports stories written in the wake of COVID-19, Black Lives Matter, and the #MeToo movement. Some readings focus on profiles, fan culture, cheating scandals, and other related sociocultural topics.
