SOCI 3313 - Sociology of Health 3 hour(s) Examines the concept of health and illness beyond a pure biological perspective. Topics examined include social constructions, meanings, and experiences of illness; patterns in distributions of health and illness; care-seeking and illness management; health and illness in the context of professionalized medicine and health care institutions; social movements surrounding health; and public policy impacting health.
