* Students are strongly encouraged to create their own plan of study, but focus on a specific area of their choice. This is often done in combination with another major, a minor, and/or in consultation with their advisor.
Music Major Scholarships: Students intending to apply for Music Scholarships must audition prior to July 15. Contact the Head of the Music Program to schedule an audition.
Course Exemptions: First semester music majors may apply to be placed out of the following required courses by examination: MUSI 1220 Music Fundamentals, MUSI 1218 Introduction to Piano. Contact the Head of the Music Program to request a placement examination.
Advanced Ensembles: All students are eligible to audition for 3000 and 4000 level advanced ensembles. Some advanced music ensembles include music scholarships for members. Contact the Head of the Music Program to schedule an audition.
