Biliterate Emphasis in Bachelor’s Degrees Certificate

The Biliterate Certificate prepares undergraduate students to use the Spanish language in professional settings related to their area of expertise. The ability to function professionally in Spanish, as well as in English, opens up opportunities to work serve in bicultural/bilingual communities.

SPAN 1412 - Elementary Spanish II 4 hour(s)
SPAN 2311 - Intermediate Spanish I 3 hour(s)
SPAN 2312 - Intermediate Spanish II 3 hour(s)
SPAN 3301 - Advanced Spanish Grammar, Reading and Composition 3 hour(s)
SPAN 3302 - Advanced Spanish Grammar Reading Composition II 3 hour(s)
SPAN 3328 - Professional Oral and Written Communication in Spanish 3 hour(s)
Psychology majors may take PSYC 4311 instead of SPAN 3328
SPAN 4160 - Biliterate Certificate Program Capstone Project 1 hour(s)
SPAN 4342 - Biliterate Certificate Program Practicum 3 hour(s)
OR a course in the student’s major that provides a practicum or learning experience opportunity in a Spanish-speaking setting.
