The Political Science Program seeks to educate students by applying experiential and creative pedagogy to develop and amplify students’ ability to become actively involved in their communities’ governance structures, their potential as political leaders and scholars, and as civically responsible members of the larger community.
Our emphasis on experiential learning gives students internships in the community, service-learning partnerships with non-profits, and project-based learning to provide skills that can be applied later in professional settings. These are all proven high impact practices that, consistent with the OLLU Mission, provide a “quality, innovative” education that “foster[s] growth [that leads to] purposeful lives and service to humanity.”
