 Students seeking EC-6 Certification are required to take two natural science courses.  One courses must have a lab (4 hours) to fulfill the Science General Education requirement. BIOL 1400 and PHSC 1400 are recommended.

Other course requirements:

Professional Education courses may not be taken until after students are officially admitted to the teacher education program

Candidates seeking EC-6 Certification must earn a C or better in all Foundation, Supporting and Professional Education courses.

Candidates seeking EC-6 Certification may earn only one D in PHIL, Foreign Language or THSA as long as the cumulative GPA requirement is met.  These three courses fulfill General Education requirements and are not considered “content” courses per TEA.
