Required General Education courses:

HIST 1301 MATH 1304 or MATH 1404 , POLS 1301 , CSCD 2341, SPAN 1411  or SPAN 2342

Students seeking EC-6 Certification are required to take two natural science courses.  One course must have a lab (4 hours) to fulfill the Science General Education requirement.

BIOL 1400  and PHSC 1400  are recommended

Professional Education courses may not be taken until after students are officially admitted to the teacher education program

Candidates seeking EC-6 Certification must earn a C or better in all Foundation, Supporting and Professional Education courses.

Candidates seeking EC-6 Certification may earn only one D in PHIL, Foreign Language or THSA as long as the cumulative GPA requirement is met.  These three courses fulfill General Education requirements and are not considered “content” courses per TEA.
